We offer a number of Professional Learning opportunities for School Teachers and Staff which meet AITSL Standards and are aligned with the Australian School Wellbeing Framework.
YOGA ed. TOOLS for TEACHERS
Yoga Ed. Tools for Teachers/Brain Breaks in the Classroom is designed for educators, health professionals, and parents.
These fun and interactive workshops empower participants to effectively utilise three to fifteen minute classroom chair yoga sessions, or “yoga breaks,” to increase self-awareness and self-regulation for students and teachers alike.
Participants will also learn the broad physical, cognitive, social, and emotional benefits of integrating breathing exercises, yoga poses, and relaxation into the classroom.
Tailored to the academic environment, all yoga tool activities require no previous yoga experience, extra equipment, or space.
Each Tools for Teachers workshop is customised to meet the unique school culture and specific needs of participants. To facilitate the optimal learning experience given a school’s unique goals, we offer many options for workshop length and pricing.
We’re running this Workshop regularly at Murdoch School of Education – but also offer this Professional Development ONSITE at schools for a more targeted approach to cultivate a Wellbeing practice across all Educators and staff.

Leila, 9 – After School Yoga Program
"I have committed to engaging my students in mindfulness and yoga at the start of every lesson, since participating at your Workshop at Murdoch Uni.Not only does it provide a space for focus and awareness for my students, but it provides me with the space to explore who I am as a teacher.I have been teaching for about 24 years, so I feel like I know when I have found a good thing! Offering a calm and meditative space for young people to be through the very difficult time of Covid-19 has felt very important. In the last few stressful days of last term, six year 7 students attended my class, four of whom said they hadn’t slept the night before. I led them through a visualisation based on yours where they go through a door. I think you call in “A special Place”. Two of them stayed asleep and one said, “Miss, can we do that every lesson?”. They then drew their happy place."
