Senior’s Week

It’s Senior’s Week and as we move slowly into the festive season, what better time to think about our loved ones who may benefit from the gift of experiencing Yoga for the coming year.

Taking time for Yoga and Mindfulness in our later years can bring a palpable joy and vitality to our lives enhancing and supporting healthy ageing.

What does healthy ageing include?

Healthy ageing is defined as ‘the process of developing and maintaining functional ability that enables wellbeing in older age‘. … To fulfil these aspirations, research shows that people need to maintain adequate physical and mental health status. The promotion of healthy ageing focuses on sociocultural and physical factors.

Recent research confirms that the implementation of modified Yoga Programs into aged care facilities enhances resident’s quality of life through improved physical, emotional and intellectual wellbeing.
